When I was in high school in the 1970's, you paid a deposit for the cap and gown. You kept the tassel and I believe the cap (for sanitary reasons), but returned the gown. They were about the quality of those tie-on gowns little kids used to wear for Halloween.

No, it's been long enough. Humor helps heal, and the "hands off" attitude toward 9-11 isn't permitting that.

My insurance once refused to say whether they'd cover my con's EEG, so he never got one.

We just left when our kids acted up. If they got home and had no milk for their breakfast cereal or no ice cream for dessert, I'd remind them why we didn't.

It doesn't matter if his kid's behavior was really atrocious, short him of kicking the guy or preparing to jump off a ledge or something equally dangerous.

I think a major contributing factor is divorced or never-married parents competing for the role of "good parent." They fight over who can give the kid the most, permit the most, and so forth.

I've endured frightfully rude, self-centered, and undisciplined kids from every generation since I myself was a kid. Their parents have been everything from Depression babies to the parents today.
